INTERNATIONAL CODE OF PRACTICE (ICOP)

The ICOP replaces the ‘Guidelines’ and become the means by which IRATA rope access will be regulated and operated around the world. IRATA has over 200 member companies spread around the world and has trained in excess of 30,000 rope access technicians. IRATA produced the first edition of General requirements for certification of personnel engaged in industrial rope access methods (the IRATA General requirements) in 1992, as a scheme of training and qualifications focusing on safety. Since then, IRATA qualifications have become the international industry standard requirement for personnel engaged in industrial rope access methods.
